Coupling firepower with speed, the Federated Weapons Group's Cavalier armor is used in combat situations that call for versatility. The Cavalier is a jack of all trades but a master of none; it can deliver a fierce attack, but lacks the armor to hold its ground in an extended battle. Cavaliers are best used in groups of five; this provides enough concentrated firepower offset the armor's relative fragility. These small squads are excellent for short forays into enemy territory to weaken defenses, destroy fixed gun emplacements, and create diversions.

Crisis on Sol Observatory takes place on a research space station in orbit around Mercury. Built to study sunspots and solar flares, the station was equipped with two high-powered electromagnetic radiation-shielding generators to protect it from solar radiation. Unfortunately for the station's inhabitants, both of these shields malfunctioned during a recent and particularly severe solar storm. Sol Observatory was bathed in radiation that should have killed the occupants, but long-range scans by rescue craft shortly after the storm detected lifesigns on the station....

The Eastern Confederation designed the Tiger power armor as a foil to the Federated States Cavalier armor, and it serves as a standard armor for soldiers manning barracks along the Northern European border. The Tiger armor is lightweight compared to most infantry armors, and while this diminishes its relative defensive quality it makes the armor less of an impediment to movement. It also allows soldiers to carry more ammunition into battle, a feature EC soldiers favor with this design as the Tiger armor is well suited to mid-range skirmishes.
