Urban Knights: The Collection [BUNDLE]
by Kieren O. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 09/06/2021 21:38:33

Really simple but fun system. Very open, and the kicker is translates well to online play via Zoom (no minis or terrain maps needed)

Very good value for money, one of my better purchases.

Props to the designer

Kieren

Urban Knights Series Pack I: Cormick County
by Kieren O. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 08/22/2021 01:59:11

This is a good campaign setting for Urban Knights. It is simple, with solid episode ideas involving the NPCs (and PCs should you be so inclined).

I'd like to see it have included a "pilot" episode to give everyone a feel of the system and setting. A small quibble.

I am glad I found this game, it is a great diversion from my usual RPG tastes (Cthulhu and Star Wars)

Urban Knights: Roleplaying in the World of 1970s Crime Television
by Kieren O. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 08/21/2021 06:38:52

So we played this tonight. It was gas. I learned the system Thursday, read the Cormick Campaign setting Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, used the episode hooks to write a session Saturday afternoon in between horse races, then ran the character creation session and episode 1 Saturday night. It was easy. There are some gaps in the rules that required winging things, but that added to the charm. My request would be some pre-written episodes so new GMs and players can get a feel for things, and the GM can use them as a template for other episodes. They aren't imperative, but they would make getting immersed in things easier. Glad I found this game, props to the creator, the playtesters, and the backers. We are on for another episode next Saturday!

Urban Knights: Roleplaying in the World of 1970s Crime Television

I was an '80s kid, but growing up I got to see a lot of '70s cop show reruns. This is a simple to use game system that does a great job making you feel like you are in one of those shows. It's a great price so give it a shot. Now, I need to read the Into the '80s supplement. Fighting crime against a neon landscape sounds like incredible fun.

Fear Response: Cinematic Horror Roleplaying
by Brian S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/15/2018 11:59:49

I finally had a chance to read Fear Response. It is great. I should have fun with this. I think you can run some chilling stories with this system. But I also think this system is flexible enough out of the box to recreate Scooby Doo ”horror." ith a little tweaking this would be an alternative to the Toon RPG from back in the day.

Fear Response: Cinematic Horror Roleplaying

Great rules lite horror game. The author clearly knows the genre and the system is tailored to take advantage of all the tropes of horror movies. To top it off, the price is unbeatable. I will be waiting for more material to use with Fear Response!
