Out of all the splat books i have read across the World of Darkness, this is my favorite by far. Before, that was Toreador, but this book does so much to flesh out a Breed that could so easily have become one note, fleshing out a society of complex politics, self centered generosity, obligation, and logical madness that it left me stunned. Stuffed to the brim with adorable passages and art, dark and eerie descriptions, character archetypes that can be taken into such a wide spectrum of play, and a fascinating history, Breedbook Ratkin is a masterpiece.It had some i didnt love, as it is a book found inherently in american stereotypes and pop culture (such as "white trash" and militias and the like) but, like any good setting book, makes these alien concepts approachable and really makes you understand where these madmen are coming from. I dont like how the Plagues got so little lore, as i find that what we did get was interesting, but the aspects got so much that i can look past that. Pair that with good mechanics i can easily port over to W20, and it is a firm recommendation from me.
